It can be placed in several positions, therefore becomes a module that can be changed in different condition due to the environment .
The middle side and the bottom side are translucent, the back sides have two pieces
of museum boards inside therefore makes it opaque.
BONBON I
A bag designed for transporting water bottles.
The bottle bag can be placed in a larger tote bag.
A magnet will be placed on the outside of the tote bag, in order to hold the bottle upright.
The problem is driven from a interview of 4 librarians at Pratt Institute. Their daily job is assisting people who have questions, organizing books and videotapes, and sometimes handling valuable, historical items. Throughout the interview, I found that most of the librarians carry their reusable water bottles. Small items such as phones, keys, cash are also necessary for them to carry around.
While designing an object that they can be carried easily, I broadened the targeting group to office workers, students who need to take their reusable bottles, and other items to work/school.
PVC fabric is the material I chose. It is flexible, transparent and water proofed. The transparency introduces a concept of exposing life. More and more fashionable items are made of transparent material, and they become very popular among customers. The transparency provides the customers an opportunity to show rather than hide. With a transparent bag, customers are able to show what they are carrying, show more about their life to strangers.
The water bottle bag has a magnet on the side, and can be placed inside of a tote bag. Simply by attaching another piece of magnet on the outside of the tote bag with the magnet on the water bottle bag, the water bottle can be fixed in a vertical position in the tote bag. It prevents problem of leakage, and makes the location of the bottle visible. The magnet also comes with different shapes, such as heart, triangles, to provide varies aesthetic choices for the user.
The water bottle bag can also be carried individually. It can be attached to a strap. There is also a small compartment on the side of the bag, can be used for phone, key, cash, and other trivial items. With the water bottle bag, user can be more aware of their hydration since they are able to carry their water bottle with them.
