The Bubblemaze is a performance architecture piece, which creates an immersive, interactive experience for the viewers by building with inflatable material. While viewer is walking through the space, the surrounding lights changes from blue to red, which indicates the person’s location, and shows a total number of people inside from the exterior. It is a pop-up structure built in a parking lot.

I was inspired by packaging air pillow.

I imagined them to be huge as walls, and try to picture how people can walk trough them, and interact with them. Their transparency and volume creates an invisible space, which provides a magical, unaccustomed, fantastical experience to the audience. To emphasis the transparent space,

I implemented light and interactive element into the design. I designed the circuit, which it is able to detect human. As the audience walk through the space, the light changes accordingly to their trace.
